TMV: “Driving the Future of Mobility in Telangana”

Telangana, the second largest state in India, is known for its growth and development in the automotive engineering and research sector. With the vision of accelerating sustainability growth in India, the state has established the first new mobility cluster, Telangana Mobility Valley (TMV). The TMV aims to be a competitive destination for manufacturing and research and development, facilitating all automotive engineering companies. The vision of TMV is to attract $6 billion in investment, create 400,000 new jobs, and establish four mega clusters in and around Hyderabad.

The TMV includes electric vehicle manufacturing in Zaherabad, Sitarampur, and Chiy Vella, and energy storage systems in Devitipalli, Mehaboob Nagar Dist. The 1200-acre mobility valley in Yenkathalla in Vikarabad boasts of India’s most comprehensive shared testing and validation infrastructure.

Several companies have made investments in TMV to further its growth. For instance, the state government is setting up a lithium-ion giga factory with an investment of INR 9500 crore. Hyundai is investing INR 1400 crore for setting up an automotive proving ground, and Beliti Electric is investing INR 1100 crore for setting up three vehicle manufacturing units. Alok is investing INR 750 crore to set up its first giga volt hathod facility, while Atero is investing around INR 600 crore for setting up a battery recycling unit.

Moreover, the government of Telangana has started a Kalam Center to upskill youth education and development in the e-mobility sector, with an investment of INR 3000 crore in advanced stages. The MG group has started an EV group in Telangana to support startups, and Apollo Tyres has tied up with a digital innovation center. Bosch will hire around 3000 employees for the development of AI and safety solutions for the automotive industry. The US-based FISCA EV maker is making its first venture outside the US for developing engineering research and development in Telangana.

In Yenkathala, various projects are underway to further develop the region as a hub for the automotive industry and e-mobility sector. These projects aim to establish Yenkathala as a leading destination for manufacturing, research and development, and innovation.

One of the major projects is the setting up of India’s first lithium-ion giga factory with an investment of 9500 crore INR. This project is expected to contribute significantly to the growth and development of the region, creating new job opportunities for local residents.

In conclusion, Telangana is rapidly growing as a hub for the automotive industry with various investments and initiatives by the government and private companies. With its comprehensive infrastructure, supportive environment for startups, and upskilling programs for youth, Telangana is poised to be a leader in the e-mobility sector.
